Directorate of Lifelong Learning of the University of Kashmir is a beacon for inclusive, accessible, skill-based and future-ready education. Guided by the transformative vision of NEP-2020, we are committed to creating learning opportunities that transcend traditional boundaries and empower individuals across all ages to thrive in a rapidly evolving world.
Our vision is to establish a dynamic and inclusive learning ecosystem that fosters personal enrichment, professional growth, and societal participation. Our mission is to design and deliver high-quality, flexible, and need-based programs in foundational literacy, life skills, vocational training, and continuing education. We believe education is a lifelong journey and not confined to any single stage of life.
In recent years, we have successfully implemented diverse programs aligned with NEP-2020’s five pillars of Adult Education viz., foundational literacy and numeracy, critical life skills, vocational skills development, basic education, and continuing education. Through community outreach, digital platforms, and strategic partnerships, we have expanded learning access to underserved and marginalized populations, empowering them with skills that improve livelihood, civic engagement, and quality of life.
Looking ahead, our strategic plan focuses on leveraging technology, expanding interdisciplinary collaborations, and adopting innovative pedagogies like AI-based personalization, micro-credentials, and immersive learning tools. We aim to build a sustainable, agile, and globally connected centre that continually adapts to emerging educational frontiers and workforce needs.
As we move forward, we remain committed to our core values of accessibility, relevance, equity, and impact. We invite all learners, partners, and stakeholders to join us in shaping a more educated, empowered, and equitable society.
